The Soulmates

The Soulmates is een band bestaande uit drie jonge frisse muzikanten; Baer Traa (gitaar en vocals), Maurits Den Hollander (contrabas) en Sven Rozier (drums) die elkaar kennen van het Rotterdams conservatorium. Zij brengen op een smaakvolle manier een divers en uitgebreid repertoire ten gehore.Niet alleen spelen The Soulmates swingende dansmuziek zoals jazzstandards uit het American Songbook maar ze schakelen ook moeiteloos over naar bekende soul en motown classics. Ook kan het trio eventueel uitgebreid worden met saxofoon.

“The Soulmates consist of three young and upcoming cats on the Dutch music scene. Baer Traa (vocals and guitar), Maurits Den Hollander (double bass) and Sven Rozier (drums) met each other while studying jazz at the conservatory of Rotterdam, a school known for its diverse and versatile alumni. With this band they tastefully play a varied repertoire – effortlessly they go from American Songbook repertoire to swinging jazz music and from bittersweet soul ballads to motown classics. For some extra punch, a saxophone player can be added to the personnel.”
